It is a compacted chemical product designed for the cleaning and maintenance of smoke ducts. When burned on embers or flames, it releases volatile active substances that adhere to the flue walls, drying out, fragmenting, and dislodging the accumulated creosote, tar, and soot.

It is formulated for open or closed fireplaces (inserts/cassettes), wood stoves, biomass or diesel boilers, and coal or wood cookers. Always ensure that the exhaust duct has no structural cracks or breaks before application.

  • Intensive or daily use (cold season): One cartridge every 15 to 20 days to prevent the formation of dense creosote layers.
  • Occasional use or weekends: One at the start of the season and another halfway through (every 2 or 3 months).
  • Fireplaces with difficult draught or very resinous wood: Can be used every 10-15 days.

A very important part of the soot volatilises and exits as fine ash with the smoke, while thicker plates fall by gravity to the base of the fireplace or ash pan within 48 to 72 hours afterwards. Simply remove and clean this deposit once the fireplace is cold.

  • Store the cartridge in a dry, cool place, out of reach of children and pets.
  • Handle with gloves if the packaging is open or damaged.
  • Do not use liquid accelerants (petrol, alcohol) with the cartridge.
  • Do not stand directly over the smoke outlet on the roof during gasification.

Not entirely. The cartridge is a preventive maintenance and chemical degradation treatment. It greatly facilitates the soot falling on its own or requires much less effort for manual brush sweeping, but wood or biomass installations still require periodic safety inspection and mechanical sweeping.

No. The formula is specifically designed to be compatible with modern metal flues (single or double-walled stainless steel), as well as vitrified pipes, cast iron, and traditional refractory brickwork. It does not degrade welds or generate acidic corrosion on metal.

  • Light the fire as usual and wait for the flue to reach an optimal temperature (about 45 to 60 minutes of continuous operation).
  • Reduce the flame, leaving an abundant bed of live embers.
  • Open the damper to the maximum to ensure good upward circulation.
  • Place the cartridge directly on the embers (without opening its packaging if it is self-degradable/closed) and close the fireplace door or screen.

The product is designed to gasify and exit entirely through the flue to the outside. During the process, it is essential to keep the door closed or the hood well ventilated. It does not generate residual odours in the home, provided the flue is functioning normally and there is no smoke backflow.

Yes, significantly. The main cause of chimney fires is the sudden ignition of creosote adhered at high temperatures. By drying and chemically decomposing these flammable resins, the accumulated fuel on the inside of the pipe wall is drastically reduced.

No. If the flue is 100% obstructed (by a bird's nest, collapse, or massive accumulation), the cartridge should not be lit, as the gases will not be able to rise and will bounce back into the room. In case of a total blockage, manual mechanical unblocking must be carried out first.
